What attracted you to a career in the healthcare industry? 🤔
It’s the opportunity to combine high tech and innovation to improve patients’ lives. Also the ability to transfer solutions from other branches is something attractive in the healthcare industry.
What do you love most about your job? 😊
I love to see that our products are applied in real life. We don’t release products for theory. They are used every day to improve patients‘ lives.
What challenges do you face? 🧐
Convincing authorities that the benefits outweigh the risks and making our products available globally. Especially for well-established technologies.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from working during the pandemic? 👉
Digitalisation improved a lot and made things possible that weren’t 10 years ago. However, social distancing really leaves you socially apart from others. So I learned also to appreciate things like meeting in-person on-site and when traveling.
Do you have any advice for young people interested in working in your specialism? 👍
Don’t think that it’s dry matter. It’s exciting work in a VUCA environment. You must know in MedTech what Regulatory is about. Before saying no, take a look as an intern to get to know what it’s about and learn to incorporate efficient and effective interfaces in your later work.
How did you bounce back from a low point in your career? 😎
If I needed to bounce back I would look back at what I have already achieved. Then I would look up to be convinced to overcome this as well. Each problem you face lets you grow in the future. Life is too short to be down.
What excites you about the future of MedTech industry? 💫
MedTech is sustainable and as long as humans are on the planet it is needed.
What has been the most important moment in your career to date? 📢
Being U23 world champion in rowing. The sparkling moment when dreams come true within some minutes of a race where you had to work very hard and have belief in order to be best in class.
Who do you admire in the MedTech industry and why? 👀
There are various. In general I admire all physicians using medical devices to perform little miracles day by day. It’s about applying technology and human performance to improve patient health that impresses me.
If you were reincarnated as an animal, which animal would you be and why? 🐐
A wolf because I think these are amazing and great creatures. On the one hand, wolves are strong, courageous, ambitious, and can be very focused. On the other hand, wolves are social and loyal animals.
